Reports

Introduction

Resolve Insights allows you to generate reports that are necessary to monitor the system and network health, as well as troubleshoot network problems. You can email or export reports to XLS format.

Email Configuration

Before you can send reports over email, you need to configure an outbound SMTP server. Please refer to Email Configuration for details.

Create a Report

Several types of reports can be generated.

  • The Inventory report provides a complete list of your inventory with all the available per-item information. You can apply different filters per site, device type, or discovery time.
  • The Flows report provides a detailed list of the service flows per site, application, or device group.
  • The VMware report provides a detailed list of the discovered vCenters and their virtual machines.
  • The Xen report provides a detailed list of the discovered Xen centers and their virtual machines.
  • The Undiscovered Devices report provides a list of ping-only devices for which the discovery process couldn't collect details.

Take the following steps to generate a report:

  1. Navigate to Reports.
  2. Click the + Add Report.
  3. Enter the report Name.
  4. Choose the report Type.
  5. Choose the report Action after generation - to manually download the report or to send it via email. Emailed reports can be manually downloaded from the Reports section at any time
    • Download — Manually download the report.
    • Instant Email — Send the report over email immediately after generation. Provide an Email To list of email addresses of the report recipients. Emailed reports can be manually downloaded from the Reports section at any time.
  6. Enter the Report Content details based on the selected report type.
  7. Click Create

The report generation is triggered immediately, and the report appears in the Reports.

View Report Details

All generated reports are available in the Reports menu. Each report features basic information about its name, status, action, and details.

Additionally, you can see full report details, including the content that it was generated with, and if the report was successfully generated, you can download it in XLS format.

  1. Navigate to Reports.
  2. Choose the report for which you want to see content details and click on the Details (info) icon under the Actions column.
  3. If the report was successfully generated, click the Download button to manually download the report file.

Delete a Report

  1. Navigate to Reports.
  2. Take one of the following actions:
    • To delete a single record, click the Delete (trashbin) icon under the Actions column in the row of the record that you want to delete.
    • To delete multiple records, check the boxes in the rows of all the records that you want to delete and then click the Delete button.
